! An annual wellness visit is NOT an annual physical! Patients should not have to request tests for each body part. Contact CMS and your representatives! They know how important a basic annual physical is to longevity. Why have seniors and their agents tolerated loss of this basic coverage?

Disgusting and discriminatory! Many seniors don’t know this ...they just wonder why their doctor suddenly stopped providing a standard annual preventive checkup! An annual checkup allows your doctor to go through a checklist of exams to catch problems before they happen. Now a senior needs to create their own list and ask for each and every exam and if they forget something or are embarrassed to ask, they pay the price with $ and their health. I'm inviting others to ontact your legislators and alert them! This is not acceptable! Why should there be a game as referred to in this video? Health insurance is not supposed to contain a “gotcha” and people need to stop accepting subpar services. Senior citizens paid for this in payroll deductions AND continued premiums. Insurance always paid for an annual physical. Medicare needs to do the same. Seniors should not be expected to “play the game” to get decent healthcare. Without a standard annual physical to catch problems BEFORE one experiences symptoms, Medicare switches seniors from HEALTHCARE to SICKCARE overnight.

It’s really ridiculous. You have to wait so long to get Medicare. If you qualify for disability, then you should be able to get a Medicare immediately. This happened to me and took all of my savings. I became severely disabled and qualified for Social Security disability instantly, but had to wait for Medicare so every penny, I got went to my health expenses, so I have no safety net now

If you currently have private health insurance( not offered from a group plan) and are age 65 or older , can this remain your primary insurance plan ? Or does Medicare throw down the Trump card and mandate that it is the primary insurer over independent private plans ?

Question..My wife is on ssdisability. I worked without paying into Medicare. When my wife and I are 65, am I eligible to receive Medicare benefits if my wife is still getting Social Security Disability benefits? I would never be able to get Medicare but was hoping I'd get it from my wife but she's on SSDI.

We reported my step brother embezzling almost $200,000. This was his second time the first time he was kicked off of disability for fraud. We have reported him twice with all of the financial records and bookkeeping along with his charges and cash with drawls his signature on checks that were made out For personal items like jewelry and a inground swimming pool but the recipients name in the books never matched the check images so far Social Security has done absolutely nothing. It has been three years of reporting .. I don’t know who the fuck they go after, but if you’ve got CPA documentation along with signatures and forged checks all going to remodel his home pay for his lawn care and landscaping, hot tub, and 2600 square-foot home not to mention the brand, new Toyota tundra, to which the company paid for all of the insurance fuel maintenance everything.. so at what point does Social Security do a fucking thing do they just fuck with people that can’t afford an attorney because he borrowed money to get an attorney which got him out of the first time he was caught

That is so wrong! If you qualify for disability benefits because you can't work than you'll need medical assistance/medicare because you don't have health insurance! If one doesn't have insurance and they have medical problems chances are without a family doctor to oversee his/her care then they run a higher risk of ending up in an emergency room!

Hello. I was awarded approved for ssdi by phone judge Aug 2021. Finally yesterday I got my benefit letter. My onsite date agreed upon by the judge and attorneys was Aug 2015. The award letter I got yesterday states March 2019. So I am losing 3.5 years of back pay? Can I fight this with my attorneys help? Is this an error or what is going on? Please any information you have, I am very upset!

My doctor screwed up on Welcome to Medicare Physical because they didn't know how to document it. Probably just as well if it is as worthless as the annual wellness visit. Here's how my doctor handles it. A 20-something medical assistant asks all the questions such as are you pissing on yourself, are you falling down, can you tell time on a clock with moveable hands (yes thank you I learned that over 65 years ago), are you sexually active, can you take care of yourself (yes thank you I am working every day) and other such stupid nonsense. He documents it as counseling, i.e. questions asked about diet are documented as diet counseling, questions about exercise are documented as counseling about heart health. That is all he does except ask about when last mammogram & colonoscopy was. Oh yeah a question is asked if you have an advance directive. He documents it saying an X amount of time was spent counseling patient about advance directives. He gets paid. I get nothing but asked stupid questions. This is the most worthless exercise I have ever encountered at a doctors office. It should be against the law for a doctor to document lies. I will NEVER again be tricked into such a stupid exercise. Yes it is ALL about money and ZERO about patient health.

This is confusing to Federal Employees because you talk about the Part B Late enrollment penalty, but when you are talking about Federal Retirees, they will obviously have FEHB coverage and would not be without coverage, therefore not subject to the Late Enrollment period.

To say that Medicare "pays" for DME is a stretch. They have cut their allowables by %50 since January 2016. If a provider accepts assignment on a piece of equipment, the beneficiary has little or no out of pocket expense, but also has zero choice and gets stuck with Chinese junk that will fall apart very quickly. If a provider does not accept assignment (if you can even find one), the beneficiary can have more choice and can have much better quality, but often ends up paying more out of pocket for the equipment than Medicare does. In other words, if you want choices and quality, Medicare will only "chip in" to help pay for it. If you can't afford that you are stuck with garbage. On top of all this, the red tape providers and doctors have to deal with to qualify someone for the equipment is unbelievably ridiculous. It often takes weeks, or even months to qualify someone for the most basic equipment. Between the absurd red tape and slashed allowables, the Medicare DME benefit really isn't worth anything to beneficiaries. It's a benefit in name only.
